Priyagold keen to invest in Himachal

Leading biscuit manufacturer Surya Food and Agro, famous for the Priyagold brand, is keen to invest in Himachal Pradesh by setting up its facility there, company director Shekhar Agarwal said here on Monday.

"We are keen to invest in Himachal Pradesh also providing the state to extend incentives to the company," Agarwal told IANS.

He said the company, which has a turnover of Rs.1,000 crore, has a stronghold in the north Indian market. With a manufacturing capacity of 800 tonnes per day and a growth rate of 20 percent, it has recently set up a manufacturing unit in Jammu.

Himachal Pradesh Investment Promotion Cell deputy director Tilak Raj Sharma met Agarwal here and apprised him about the incentives the state are offering to the food and processing industry.

"The company is keen to invest in the state and shortly its officials would meet Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in Shimla to identify the land for its facility," he added.

Currently, the hill state has manufacturing facilities of food and beverage companies Nestle India and Cadbury India.
