PSV Eindhoven defeated reigning champions Ajax 3-1 in Amsterdam to claim the top spot in the Dutch Eredivisie after three match rounds.
Ajax took the lead in the first-half through a header by 19-year-old forward Anwar El Ghazi Sunday. In the second half PSV bounced back through some fast counter-attacks and goals by Memphis Depay, Luciano Narsingh and Florian Jozefzoon, reports Xinhua.
League topscorer Depay produced his fifth goal of the season.
The last time PSV won a league match against Ajax in Amsterdam was Jan 30, 2008 (2-0). Since that defeat Ajax won five times and the teams drew once in Amsterdam.
Besides PSV, who lead the league on goal difference, PEC Zwolle also won all their three matches. Ajax, FC Groningen and FC Utrecht follow with two wins, six points.
