The Republic Day was celebrated on Friday across Uttarakhand with traditional fervour and enthusiasm.
Governor Krishna Kant Paul took the salute at a ceremonial parade here, unfurled the national flag at the Raj Bhawan and planted a tree to mark the occasion.
Justice Lok Pal Singh hoisted the flag at the Nainital High Court in the presence of fellow judges.
The Republic Day was also celebrated at Rishikesh, Haridwar and other places. Many schools were decked up with banners and tricolours.
Prominent government buildings were lit up with bulbs.
The Republic Day was also celebrated at the Patanjali Yogpeeth at Kankhal in Haridwar where yoga Guru Baba Ramdev unfurled the Indian flag.
In his address, Baba Ramdev urged people to shun products made by foreign companies.
