Indian batsmen Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane have risen in the latest ICC Test rankings released Tuesday after the Durban Test.

Vijay and Rahane missed centuries but made significant gains in the rankings. Vijay, who scored 97 and 6, has earned six places and is now placed in 38th position while Rahane, who scored 51 not out and 96, has rocketed 63 places to 65th.

These are the career best rankings of the two Indian youngsters with the list headed by South Africa's AB de Villiers.

In the ICC rankings for Test bowlers, Vernon Philander, who became No.1 after the Centurion match last week, has held onto his top position despite conceding three points following match figures of 3/99.
