Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday arrived in his parliamentary constituency Amethi on a two-day visit.
Soon after landing at the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in the state capital, he drove to Amethi. Dozens of Congress workers injured in the police cane charge on Monday had come to the airport to meet the Gandhi scion but were not given an audience.
Earlier, a party leader said Gandhi could go to the hospital where injured party workers were undergoing treatment but the visit was cancelled due to rain and security reasons.
During his two-day visit, the Congress leader is scheduled to interact with people at Shukulbazaar, after which he will visit the house of senior leader Mannan Khan.
He will later address a symposium of farmers at Tirhut inter college in Amethi.
