Former Under-19 ICC World Cup winning India captain Unmukt Chand was sold to the Rajasthan Royals for Rs.65 lakh in the first set of the Indian Premier League (IPL) uncapped players' auction here Thursday.
The Delhi batsman's base price was Rs.30 lakh and he was sought after by both the Mumbai Indians and the Royals, but the defending champions dropped out after the Jaipur-based team notched up their bid.
Current India U-19 captain and Maharashtra batsman Vijay Zol, however, was sold for his base price of Rs.30 lakh to the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who made a late bid for him.
Tamil Nadu all-rounder Baba Aparajith was also sold for his base price of Rs.10 lakh to the Chennai Super Kings as no one else bid for him.
The first sale of the day was former Super Kings player S. Aniruddha who was sold to the Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of Rs.20 lakh.
