Real Madrid reserve team's defender Alvaro Tejero was called up to join the first team for the Champions League group stage match against Polish football club Legia Warsaw on Wednesday, after injuries kept out defenders Sergio Ramos and Pepe.
While Real captain Ramos enters the last phase of recovery from his knee injury, Pepe will continue to be sidelined for a month with a muscle tear suffered last Saturday in La Liga match against Alaves, reports Efe.
The injured include Ramos, Pepe and Casemiro, the latter suffering from a crack in the left leg, while full-back Marcelo and winger James Rodriguez were surprisingly left out of the call up.
