Real Madrid's Welsh international striker Gareth Bale believes his side needs a positive attitude if they are to beat FC Barcelona in the La Liga Clasico derby match at the Camp Nou stadium on Saturday.

The game between Barcelona and Madrid is one of the biggest rivalries in football and Madrid need to recover some pride after a poor campaign in the league and a 0-4 defeat at home to Barcelona earlier this season, reports Xinhua news agency.

"We need to go out and attack Barcelona and exploit their weaknesses," said Bale on Thursday.

"It will be tough. Barcelona are playing very well, but we've got to go out and give 100 percent. We've got a game plan and if we perform to our best we are capable of winning at the Camp Nou," he assured.

Real Madrid are 10 points behind Barcelona in the league, although Bale said they still had a chance of lifting the title if they could win in the Camp Nou and added that a good performance would also give them, "more confidence going into the Champions League game," where they face German side Wolfsburg.

He told the press he was happy with his current form, saying that learning Spanish had helped him adapt to the dressing room.

"The happier you are, the better you perform, but I've got to keep working hard and helping the team," explained the Welshman.

"I feel as if I'm adapting better. I'm learning more about the country and the language all the time. I like living here and my family are also comfortable here," he said, adding he had no plans to leave before his contract expired in 2019.

Finally Bale discussed coach Zinedine Zidane, who will take charge of his first Clasico from the dugout this weekend.

"I'm not surprised that Zidane gets angry. He reacts just as any other coach would. Sometimes we need a gentle push in the right direction. He's doing a very good job and he gives us a lot of confidence," assured the forward.
