Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will wear jersey No.10 in the 2017-18 football season after Colombian James Rodriguez recently moved to Bayern Munich, the UEFA Champions League winners confirmed on Saturday.
The Spanish club updated its official website confirming that change as Croatian midfielder Modric was wearing jersey No. 19 last season, reports Efe.
The 31-year-old also wears No.10 jersey for the Croatian national football team.
Modric joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur, while James left the Spanish club to join Bundesliga champions Bayern on a two-year loan deal.
Real Madrid's shirts with new numbers will include the newly-signed players and those returning from loan to the La Liga champions; namely midfielder Marcos Llorente, who will wear shirt No. 18, and defender Jesus Vallejo, who will take jersey No. 3.
Additionally, forward Borja Mayoral will wear jersey No. 21 and Theo Hernandez will take shirt No. 15, while Dani Ceballos will wear shirt No. 24.
Real Madrid claimed the titles of the UEFA Champions League and La Liga last season.
