Reliance Power on Tuesday declared a marginal rise in net profit at Rs 280 crore for the third quarter ending December, over the Rs 276 crore posted on this account in the same quarter of the last fiscal.
For the first nine months of the financial year (April-December), the company, however, reported a fall in net profit at Rs 784 crore, as compared to the Rs 888 crore earned in the same period of 2016-17.
The company's operating revenues during the quarter under consideration at Rs 2,495 crore fell by 11 per cent, as compared to the Rs 2,778 crore earned during the same period a year ago.
Listing the operational highlights during the third quarter, the company, in a statement here, said its 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in Madhya Pradesh generated 8,274 million units, operating at a plant load factor (PLF) of 95 per cent.
While the company's 1,200 MW Rosa power plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 1,938 million units, operating at a PLF of 73 per cent, the Butibori power plant in Maharashtra generated 1,061 million units, operating at the PLF of 80 per cent.
In the area of clean energy during the third quarter, Reliance Power's 100 MW Concentrated Solar Power Project at Dhursar in Rajasthan generated 27 million units, operating at an availability of 98 per cent, as compared to 21 million units generated in the same quarter last year.
With results coming in during market hours, the Reliance Power stock closed higher on Tuesday at Rs 47.30 a share, up 55 paise, or by 1.18 per cent, over its previous close on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
