Rolland Courbis has returned to Montpellier as the football club's coach. He helped the club to first division promotion four years ago.
Montpellier are currently in 17th place in the French league, five points above the relegation zone. It has not won for nine games in all competitions, reports Xinhua.
"I'm not coming in as a magician. I don't believe in shock therapy," Courbis said after his appointment Monday.
Courbis is succeeding Jean Fernandez, who resigned last week.
