AS Roma remained in contention for the Italian Serie A title as Radja Nainggolan scored his first goal for the club to give them a 1-0 win against Bologna.

The Belgium midfielder struck the winner eight minutes before halftime Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Nainggolan, a recent arrival from Cagliari, broke the deadlock when was presented with the simple task of turning the ball an empty net from point blank range following excellent work from midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Greece midfielder Lazaros Christodoulopoulos nearly equalised for Bologna but missed a gilt-edged chance in the final minute of injury time.

The win takes Roma within six points of leaders Juventus.
