Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said infrastructure in and around Hyderabad will be improved with projects worth Rs.21,000 crore.
He said plans were prepared to improve the infrastructure in order to decongest the city and solve the traffic problem.
Addressing the national council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Wednesday night, he said Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had prepared plans on the lines of Dallas (in US Texas state) to build multilevel flyovers at important junctions.
KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, said a Canadian firm had already conducted a study and presented its report. GHMC has also called for tenders for the first phase of the project.
The chief minister said the government was encouraging private sector to participate in creating infrastructure required in Hyderabad.
He said as the state has a huge land bank, it would allot lands to industry employing 3,000 to 5,000 employees to build their own townships in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) area spread over 7,200 square km.
