The private security industry should focus on quality training in security services in line with the vision of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY), Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said.

Smart training centres needed to be set up across the country and the focus ought to be on quality, Rudy, the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said on Monday at the 10th Security Skill and Leadership Summit 2015 here.

His ministry was committed to provide financial support to the industry for required quality training of the up-and-coming security personnel, he said.

Kunwar Vikarm Singh, chairman, Security Sector Skill Development Council (SSSDC), said his council was facilitating training of private guards in 300 training centres across the country.

The government has asked the SSSDC, which works under National Skill Development Council (NSDC), to train and certify over 60,000 private security guards in the next three months.

"India's strength lies in its talented human resources and the country has the potential to emerge as the world's human resource skill capital, provided we impart right kind of skill and training to our youth," Rudy said.

The summit was jointly organized by the SSSDC and the Central Association of Private Security Industry.
