Russia has suspended the cooperation agreement with the United States in scientific research and developments in nuclear energy, the Russian government said on Wednesday.
"The actions taken by the United States related to the introduction of sanctions against Russia have directly affected the areas of cooperation under the agreement," Xinhua news agency quoted the statement.
Signed on September 16, 2013 in Vienna, Austria, the agreement defines areas of scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and the US in using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
