Russian agent Larisa Mikhaylova, accused of violating anti-doping rules, has no relation to the All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF), secretary general of the governing body Mikhail Butov has said.
Mikhaylova is accused of violating anti-doping rules by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), reports Tass.
"Mikhaylova has no relation to the All-Russia Athletic Federation," Butov said on Thursday.
A former elite Russian runner and the 1998 European Cup champion at 800 meters, Mikhaylova is the president of the L.M. Elite Runnung Club located in Hebron, Kentucky, that offers coaching and representation of runners for US competitions.
Reports said Mikhaylova gave doping to Kenyan runners whose interests she represented. Three Kenyans who worked with the Russian agent have been caught doping since 2012.
The agent entered runners from her team into small US road races where the organisers cannot afford expensive drug-testing.
The athletes took part in many races in exchange for a 15 percent cut for Mikhaylova, according to the report. She has denied ever giving performance-enhancing tablets to athletes.
