Six-time Brazilian football champions Sao Paulo have signed former Werder Bremen and Brazil international midfielder Wesley.
The 27-year-old joins the club on a four-year deal from local rivals Palmeiras, Sao Paulo said in a statement on Sunday. The value of the transfer was not revealed, reports Xinhua.
"He has had spells at some important clubs and that experience will be useful for the development of the rest of the group," Sao Paulo's vice-president Ataide Gil Guerreiro said.
Wesley played for German top-flight outfit Werder Bremen from 2010 to 2012. He has also been capped twice for Brazil for 2010 friendlies against Iran and Ukraine.
Sao Paulo are currently the group leaders in the Cope Libertadores, South America's top club competition.
