A flag march was carried out Sunday by over 50,000 security personnel across Haryana's 90 assembly constituencies in preparation for the Oct 15 elections.
Haryana's chief electoral officer Shrikant Walgad said that all arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of elections in the state.
He said that 50,000 personnel of Haryana Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Home Guards are conducting flag march in all the 90 assembly constituencies to instil confidence among the people.
Polling will be held on Oct 15 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. There are nearly 1.63 crore eligible voters in the state who will decide the fate of 1,351 candidates. Campaigning ends Monday (Oct 13) evening.
"Strict vigil is being maintained on unauthorised liquor and money as a result of which, currency totalling Rs 2.55 crore and 1.25 lakh bottles of liquor have been seized till yesterday (Saturday) in the state," Walgad said.
