Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo are preparing an offer to sign former Brazil international defender Gil from Shandong Luneng, according to media reports.
Gil struggled for form and fitness this year, making just 30 appearances for the Chinese Super League club after his 10 million-euro move from Corinthians in January, reports Xinhua news agency.
According to the Gazeta Esportiva newspaper, the 29-year-old is open to a return to his homeland as he attempts to reclaim a place in Brazil's national team.
The report added that the centre-back's representatives have discussed a possible move with Flamengo officials.
Meanwhile, Brazilian forward Marinho has reportedly attracted interest from Chinese Super League clubs after an impressive season for Serie A club Vitoria.
