Fifth-seeded Maria Sharapova came from one set behind to beat Alexandra Dulgheru in a US Open second round match here.
World number 95 Dulgheru broke in the seventh game and won the first set 6-4 Wednesday.
Sharapova fought back in the second set, and comfortably ended the match with a 6-2 third set, reports Xinhua.
"She played really well," Sharapova said. "I started off really well, but didn't take the opportunity to go up 3-0."
Sharapova's next opponent would be 26th seeded Sabine Lisicki.
