Australia opener Shaun Marsh was on Monday ruled out of the second cricket Test against South Africa after fracturing his finger during the first game of the series.
Cricket Australia (CA) made the announcement after Australia had lost the first Test by 177 runs at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) ground.
According to CA, Marsh would require surgery on the digit and Joe Burns and Callum Ferguson would join the squad for the Hobart Test, which starts on Saturday.
Burns is likely to replace Marsh in the opening partnership with David Warner, while Ferguson has been called up as potential cover for middle order batsman Adam Voges, who has suffered a hamstring injury.
