Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is busy promoting his forthcoming film "A Gentleman", will be in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to be a spectator at a match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
He is going to be a part of the inaugural procession by singing the national anthem along with the players.
Talking about it, Sidharth said in a statement: "It is an immensely proud moment to be a part of the ceremony on Independence Day. Kabaddi is one sport which is gaining a lot of popularity amongst people and being able to watch them play live will be a thrilling experience."
"I feel proud that the Indian sport is making its mark in the country and worldwide. I am looking forward to my visit to the heritage city of Gujarat."

Tom Cruise is unstoppable: Anil Kapoor
Actor Anil Kapoor has praised Hollywood star Tom Cruise, saying he is unstoppable.
Cruise on Sunday was injured during a building-jumping stunt on the set of "Mission Impossible 6". The actor was in London on Sunday when he attempted to leap from a rigging onto a building but he fell short of the mark and hit the building pretty hard.
Anil, who has worked with the Hollywood star in the 2011 film "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", took to Twitter on Monday to laud Cruise's will power.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Cruise bounced right back up, dusted his jacket and shot for another eight hours! This man is unstoppable," Anil tweeted.
On the acting front, Anil was last seen on the silver screen in the Anees Bazmi family comedy "Mubarakan". The film also stars his nephew Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz and Athiya Shetty.

Neil wraps up 'Golmaal Again' shoot
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has wrapped up the shooting for his upcoming film action-comedy "Golmaal Again", directed by Rohit Shetty.
"Back to this gorgeous city, Mumbai. Wrapped up my part of the shoot in 'Golmaal Again'," Neil tweeted on Monday.
"Golmaal Again", the fourth instalment of the "Golmaal" franchise directed by Rohit Shetty, also stars Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kunal Kemmu and Tusshar Kapoor.
The previous three instalments featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rimi Sen and Sharman Joshi among many others. The comedy film is set for a Diwali release.
