German international Mats Hummels has said signing for champions Bayern Munich was "the most difficult decision" of his life and promised to give everything for his current club Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season.
Hummels completed his move on Tuesday. Dortmund will face Bayern in the final of the German Cup later this season, reports Efe.
The player said on his Facebook account on Tuesday, after confirming his passage to Bayern from next season, that after eight years in Dortmund it was time to try something new.
He said he understands that the decision is hard to accept and thanked Dortmund staff and club officials.
Hummels also explained that the preceding weeks have been tough, because he was facing "the most difficult decision" of his life, where he has signed a contract until 2021.
