Six people were killed and three others injured, some of them critically, when a passenger train rammed into their vehicle in Odisha's Dhenkanal district Wednesday, police said.
The accident took place at an unmanned level crossing near Dhalapur village, about 130 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, when the vehicle, packed with passengers, was crossing the railway track.
Five people, including three women, died on the spot. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where one more died, police said.
Odisha has over 600 unmanned railway crossings.
