Snow will disperse smog in parts of China in the next few days, the weather observatory said on Saturday.
Snow will hit northern and northeastern regions, while rain will sweep some parts in the southern areas on Monday and Tuesday, the National Meteorological Centre forecast.
There was a new yellow alert on Saturday for smog in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and Sichuan, China Radio International reported.
China has a four-tier warning system, with red as the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
The public has been warned to take protective measures when engaging in outdoor activities, and those who suffer from respiratory diseases are advised to stay indoors.
