Former model and actress Sofia Hayat wants her "best friend", Bollywood actress and item girl Rakhi Sawant, to get married in 2017.

"Rakhi Sawant is very hardworking. She is like a river who wins the stone and keeps flowing and doesn't stop. Every girl should make her as their moral model. I am blessed to have her as my best friend," Sofia said in a statement.

"But these days I am worried about her. I want her to get married as soon as possible, may be this year only. I am searching a perfect match for her," she added.

Rakhi, known for her item numbers in films like "Malamaal Weekly", "Krazzy 4" and "1920", earlier appeared in reality show "Rakhi Ka Swayamwar" and chose Elesh Parujanwala as her partner. They later parted ways, and just last year, Rakhi said in an interview that she got engaged to Elesh for money.

Taking Rakhi's side, Sofia said: "I think Rakhi is highly misunderstood by others. Even though she looks like a 'sex symbol', from inside she is a saint. Any man would be lucky to marry her."

Sofia has appeared in shows like "Welcome - Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki", "Bigg Boss 7" and "Comedy Nights Bachao".

Vijay Meenu gets emotional on set

Actress Vijay Meenu, who is currently seen as Mansi chachi in popular TV show "Zindagi Ki Mehek", got emotional on the set while shooting for an upcoming wedding sequence.

During Mehek's (Samiksha Jaiswal) 'haldi' sequence, Vijay couldn't contain her emotions and started crying while imagining her own daughter V Kashika.

"Being on the sets of 'Zindagi Ki Mehek' makes me feel like I am a part of this new family, wherein everything feels so amazing. I have an emotional connection with all the artistes. And, somehow I feel more connected with Mehek as she reminds me of my own daughter," Vijay said in a statement.

"As Mehek is getting married now, it feels like my own daughter is getting married. When Mehek's 'haldi' sequence was taking place, I thought as if I was bidding adieu to my own daughter who's moving away into her in-laws's house.

"This thought made me emotional and I couldn't hold back my tears. A daughter's wedding rituals are such that one tends to get emotional, irrespective of whether the wedding is happening on screen or off it," she added.

"Zindagi Ki Mehek" is aired on Zee TV.

Dipika Kakar 'waiting' to marry Shoaib Ibrahim

Actress Dipika Kakar, who is dating her former "Sasural Simar Ka" co-star Shoaib Ibrahim, says she is waiting for the actor to pop the question to her.

"I want to ask Shoaib about marriage, even I am waiting for that," Dipika said in a statement.

Talking about their relationship, Dipika said: "Shoaib and I have connected in the most difficult part of each other's life and we have seen distance, we have been away, so the fear of breaking up is not there between us."

"I always believe that there's a phase in every relationship where you are madly in love in the beginning, then you madly fight and then you cross that to have a very strong relationship. I think we have already crossed the fight stage so now we share a very matured equation and our base is very strong because we love each other a lot and with the matured understanding it just clicks perfectly," she added.

"Sasural Simar Ka" is aired on Colors.
