Two Spanish tourists, who were presumed dead after they went missing in the attack on the Bardo Museum in the Tunisian capital, have been found alive following the terrorist attack that left at least 19 people dead.
Amira Chamika, an official from the MSC shipping company, told Efe news agency on Thursday that the two Spaniards had hidden in the vicinity of Bardo Museum, adding that an employee of MSC, the company with which they travelled to the North African country, met them at the scene to accompany them back to their hotel.
The resurfaced Spanish couple is a man and a pregnant woman, who were transferred to a local hospital to ensure that they were in stable condition.
Among the casualties in Wednesday's attack, possibly committed by a jihadi group, were two Spanish nationals, according to sources.
MSC sources added that the relatives of the Spanish victims arrived in Tunisia to identify the bodies.
At least 19 people died in the attack. Apart from The Spanish victims, others included two Tunisians and tourists from Britain, Japan, Italy, Colombia, Australia, France and Poland. More than 40 people, including tourists and Tunisians, were injured.
