Special bi-weekly train from Ahmedabad to Katra

Beginning Oct 1, Western Railway will run a special train from here twice a week for pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said Saturday.

The train will run till Oct 30. Booking of tickets online as well as through reservation counters has started.

The nine-day Navratri festival begins Sep 25, and the number of pilgrims from Gujarat to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine is expected to increase, officials said.
