Sri Lanka elect to field against New Zealand in World Cup opener

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to field against co-hosts New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC World Cup here Saturday.

Squads:

New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum (captain), Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi (wicketkeeper), Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee, Adam Milne, Trent Boult.

Sri Lanka: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lahiru Thirimanne, Kumar Sangakkara (wicketkeeper), Mahela Jayawardene, Angelo Mathews (captain), Dimuth Karunaratne, Jeevan Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Suranga Lakmal, Rangana Herath, Lasith Malinga.
