Nature continues to expose its ugly side ravaging villages with hail storms in eastern Uganda leaving thousands of people homeless and scores of villagers nursing serious injuries.
The violent storm that struck in the dead of Sunday night battered three villages in Bunawale parish, Butaleja district. Out of the 20 admitted to Busolwe Hospital, 15 were discharged Sunday while five are still getting additional treatment, Xinhua reported.
Other parts of eastern Uganda have also been battered by hail storms. Kamuli and Jinja districts suffered the wrath of a raging storm that killed eight people and left over 5,000 people homeless.
In Butaleja district, a total of 167 families were affected in the storm, according to the district disaster assessment report.
