It was a sultry Tuesday in the capital with the maximum temperature recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year and maximum humidity above 90 percent. The Met office has forecast light rains Wednesday.
"The skies will remain generally cloudy with rain and thundershower occurring in some parts of the city Wednesday," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
"Wednesday's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degree Celsius," added the IMD official.
While the minimum temperature Tuesday was recorded a notch above average at 23.8 degree Celsius, the humidity wavered between a high of 92 percent and low of 58 percent.
