A special summary revision of electoral rolls in Delhi will be taken up for two months from Saturday onwards, with the draft electoral rolls having 1,41,766 voters less than the previous ones, official sources said on Friday.
"Special summary revision of electoral rolls has been commenced in all 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi, with the draft publication on September 1. The objective is to include newly eligible voters, those who have attained or will attain the age of 18 on or before January 1, 2019," it said.
The decrease in voters includes 93,715 in male category, 48,028 in female and 23 in the third-gender category since October 2017, the office of Chief Electoral Officer said.
It will also help correct electors' particulars and invite objections against wrong inclusion in the lists.
Voters can file thier claims and objections between September 1 and October 31.
