Scottish singer Susan Boyle is expanding her acting career. She has landed a role in a new TV drama.

The 52-year-old made her acting debut as a church warden's wife in 2013 festive movie "The Christmas Candle", and now she is heading to the small screen in an upcoming British series, provisionally titled "Diva", according to British newspaper The Sun, reports contactmusic.com.

Boyle filmed her role as a lighthouse keeper's wife in the pilot episode last month.

The singer's agent told the publication that Boyle is "very excited" about the show, which is about a young girl from Britain's Channel Islands who dreams of becoming a star.
