Sushma Swaraj meets Xi

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Thursday met Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on a three-day visit to the country.

"Ge xia, wo hen huanying nin dao yindu lai - I extend a very warm welcome to you in India," Sushma Swaraj greeted the Chinese president.

Earlier Thursday, Xi was presented a guard of honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here. He also visited Rajghat - memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - and laid a wreath.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Xi would hold talks at Hyderabad House later in the day.

Xi is on a three-day sojourn to India that began from Ahmedabad Wednesday.
