At least 15 civilians were killed and 50 injured on Monday during Syrian airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS)-held city of Mayadeen in Syria, a monitor group reported.
The warplanes struck a covered marketplace in Mayadeen which is controlled by the IS militants in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour, large swathes of which had fallen to the terror-labelled group over the past year, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The toll is likely to rise due to the number of critically wounded people, Xinhua news agency reported citing the UK-based watchdog group.
