Syrian border guards have confiscated a large shipment of weapons and ammunition, including missiles, in a town on the Syrian-Lebanese border, state-run TV said on Monday.
"The Syrian border guards confiscated a shipment of heavy weapons and ammunition, including missiles, in the town of Bayoun on the Syrian-Lebanese border," Xinhua cited the TV as saying, adding that the shipment was meant to be smuggled from the Lebanese side of the border into Syria.
The TV spelled no further details about the weapon confiscation in Bayoun, a town in the border area of Talkalakh in the countryside of the central province of Homs.
