A Delhi court Monday posted for Dec 6 the hearing of a case filed against Lt. Gen. Tejinder Singh (Retd) who allegedly offered a bribe to then army chief Gen. V.K. Singh for clearing "sub-standard" Tatra trucks.
Special CBI Judge Madhu Jain fixed Dec 6 for hearing the case after Tejinder Singh's counsel moved a plea seeking documents related to the case filed by the CBI with the charge sheet.
Earlier, the court had sent him to jail on Sep 1. He was released after the Delhi High Court granted him bail Sep 5. The case was lodged by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) against Lt Gen Tejinder Singh in October 2012 following a complaint by Gen V.K. Singh.
It has been alleged that Lt Gen Tejinder Singh offered a bribe of Rs.14 crore to the then army chief.
In March 2012, Gen V.K. Singh alleged that he was offered Rs.14 crore in bribe for clearing at least 1,676 Tatra trucks for the army.
He alleged that Lt Gen Tejinder Singh met him in August-September 2010 and offered him the money on behalf of Vectra Group chief Ravi Rishi to clear the file for procurement of the trucks.
