IT and telematics-enabled solution and service provider telematics4u is planning to expand its footprint to 150 countries in the next four-five years, Pratap Hegde, chairman and managing director of the company, said.
"We are present in 55 countries now through a network of 150 local service providers. We want to expand our footprint to 150 countries in the next four-five years and increase our local service providers' network to 1,000," Hegde told IANS.
The company is now spread across Africa, Middle-East, south Asia and Southeast Asia. "Now we are planning to foray into China and South America."
Talking about the investment, he said: "To take the company to the next level, we need around Rs.40-50 crore investment. There is a small amount of external investment in the company. We operate through a network of local service providers."
He said there is a huge market for Indian IT abroad in the logistics and transportation arena.
"Though we provide the solution it is implemented in a tailor-made format by the local service providers. They give the solution in a simplified manner to the end customer. Everything is there in the cloud," Hegde said.
"Our aim is to create local jobs and encourage development of local ICT. Our company has more of an exponential model than a linear model."
Headquartered in Bangalore, the company has around 100 employee. It was started five years back by Hegde and two of his junior colleagues.
"The company has a turnover of Rs.15-16 crore, but it is growing at 100 percent year-on-year," he said.
Among its various projects, the company has been providing comprehensive solid waste management solution to Kuwait Municipality for the last three years. It is also providing technology-based automotive logistics solutions to Mahindra Logistics.
