Three low-intensity earthquake quakes hit Himachal Pradesh on Saturday but there were no reports of damage to life or property, an official told IANS.
In Rampur subdivision, all educational institutes were closed as a precaution since the area recorded around 15 small tremors, subdivisional magistrate Nishant Thakur told IANS over the phone.
Official sources said the maximum impact of the quake was seen in Ani and Nirmand areas of Kullu district, besides Rampur in Shimla district.
The first quake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit the state at 6.44 a.m. and the second and the third of 4.3 and 4.2 magnitude temblor struck at 7.05 a.m. and 9.08 a.m, local meteorological office director Manmohan Singh told IANS.
The epicentre of all the three quakes was recorded in the Kullu region.
