Three Indian soldiers and a civilian were injured in a fresh incident of unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, a spokesman said.
A defence spokesman said Pakistani troops violated the bilateral ceasefire in Mendhar sector of the LOC, which divides Kashmir between the two countries, in the Jammu region in the morning.
"Three army troopers and a civilian were injured in Pakistan firing which started at 6.30 a.m. They fired from automatic weapons and also used rockets and mortar shells," he said.
"The troopers who sustained minor injuries were shifted to the hospital," the spokesman said.
"The injured civilian has also been shifted to a hospital in Jammu city," he said.
The spokesman said Indian troops retaliated the Pakistani fire and the exchange continued till late afternoon.
