Actress Tilda Swinton says that she is a big Marvel fan and is excited to be joining the universe in "Doctor Strange".
The Oscar-winning actress is set to play The Ancient One in the film and is the latest high profile star to join the Marvel franchise. And Swinton admits that the premise of the film, the character, and the world in which it is set was a major draw for her, reports femalefirst.co.uk
"I just really liked the premise of this and the idea of playing this character. I'm a Marvel fan and I think this particular world that 'Doctor Strange' goes into is really, really, really exciting," she was quoted as saying by screencrush.com.
"I'm really interested as both an actor and a fan to see what's done in this particular world. It's all about creativity. It's not about everything exploding at the end. It's about something very different," she added.
Swinton went on to suggest that she has signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel but doesn't know where she may pop up in the future.
"It's like a family thing. Who knows where one might pop up. I don't know where they'll use me and I don't know that they know, necessarily, even though they seem to know what they're doing for the next decade. I think it's like holding onto the tail of a galloping horse at this point," she said.
Filming on "Doctor Strange" is set to get underway in the autumn and will see Swinton team up with Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor - who will play Doctor Strange and Baron Mordo.
The film is set for release on October 28, 2016.
