A 10-month-old toddler was killed while his father suffered injuries after a collision between his auto-rickshaw and a motorbike here, police said on Monday. The motorbike rider has been arrested.
The accident took place around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday in Swaroop Nagar area of north Delhi.
The toddler, Manan, was travelling with his father Ashok, who was driving his auto-rickshaw.
Police said Ashok was driving under the influence of alcohol when his auto-rickshaw collided with a motorbike driven by a resident of Swaroop Nagar, Jugal Kishor.
After the collision, the auto-rickshaw overturned. The toddler died on the spot while Ashok was injured.
"We have detained Jugal Kishor and are trying to find out if it was the fault of the auto-rickshaw or the motorcyclist," a police officer said.
