After months of speculation about his role in Christopher Nolan's movie "Dunkirk", actor Tom Hardy has finally begun shooting for the World War II-based film in California.
Hardy was spotted shooting on Friday, reports dailymail.co.uk.
Some of the photographs offer first glimpse of Hardy's look.
In the images, he can be seen hopping into the pilot's seat of a replica British spitfire. The actor is seen dressing in an ensemble reminiscent of a RAF fighter pilot and combining it with a dark jacket, goggles and a helmet.
Set in the 1940s, "Dunkirk" revolves around allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain and France who are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.
The film also stars Fionn Whitehead and Harry Styles.
The epic action thriller is set to release on July 21, 2017.
