Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has decided to exclude Italian football legend Francesco Totti from the team's training following the latter's controversial statements in which he asked for respect and claimed that his relationship with his coach does not go beyond "good morning" and "good evening".
Roma said in a statement that Spalletti notified Totti of his exclusion from the team's training camp for the upcoming Palermo game on Sunday as the coach claimed that the player's presence might be a source of distraction for the rest of his teammates, reports Efe.
The controversy began on Saturday after Totti showed discontent regarding his current situation with Roma, saying, "I demand more respect for all I've done here. What is my rapport like with Spalletti? We say 'good morning' and 'good evening'.
"That's it. I want things cleared up with Spalletti because I'd rather he tell me certain things to my face than me reading them in the paper."
