A 42-year-old trader was shot at and injured by four armed men when he resisted a robbery bid here, police said Thursday.
Rishipal and his companion Anil Gupta were travelling in a car when they were intercepted by four men on two motorcycles at Mianwali Nagar in west Delhi late Wednesday.
"Two men walked towards Rishipal and asked him to hand over to them the bag he was carrying containing Rs.1 lakh in cash. As he resisted, one of them opened fire at him and snatched the bag," said a police officer.
Rishipal received a bullet injury in his abdomen. He was admitted to a nearby hospital where his condition was stable, the officer added.
Police said a case of robbery and attempt to murder has been registered.
