Tripura donates Rs 1 cr for Tamil Nadu flood relief

The Tripura government will contribute Rs one crore to the ongoing effort to provide relief to the flood-affected people of Tamil Nadu.

"The state cabinet in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday decided to donate Rs one crore to aid the people affected by recent floods and rains in Tamil Nadu," Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha told reporters.

The floods left a trail of destruction in Tamil Nadu, claiming over 300 lives and ravaging road and rail links, airport, power and telecom lines.
