French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga debuted on Monday at the Shanghai Masters with a comfortable win over Germany's Florian Mayer.
Tsonga managed to defeat Mayer 6-3, 6-2 in 71 minutes, reports Efe.
The Frenchman, ranked 13 in the world, will now face Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic in the second round.
The Shanghai Masters is the penultimate ATP World Tour Masters tournament of the year, and includes the world's tennis stars, except the injured Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori and Dominic Thiem.
