Two people were booked on Thursday on charges of making a hoax phone call that bombs have been planted on the Amravati Express and Goa Express, police said.

According to the first information report filed at the Collem police station in South Goa, Mallikarjun Pednekar, 40, and Avinash Pednekar, 35, both residents of Mollem village, 80 km from Panaji, were tracked down through their mobile phone location.

"They used a mobile phone to make the hoax call to the railway authorities informing them about a bomb on board both trains," said assistant sub inspector P.G. Patil of the Collem police station.

Both trains were delayed on Wednesday by several hours after the bomb call was received, as the personnel of the Government Railway Police and the dog squad of Goa Police were pressed into action to search the trains for explosives.

No explosives were found, and the trains were allowed to go.
