Two children died and more than two dozen others fell seriously ill after they consumed milk in a government school as part of the midday meal programme on Thursday, police said.
The two killed were identified as Zeeshan, 5 and Kirti, 3.
The milk packets were allegedly supplied by NGO Akshay Patra to the junior high school, primary school and 'anganwadi in the Kanshi Ram colony in the Refinery area.
Police said the victims had been promptly taken to the district hospital for treatment and inquiry begun to into allegations against principal Madhu and anganwadi workers Rita and Usha.
Senior district officials reached the school after reports of the food poisoning.
