Two Delhi Police constables have been arrested here for taking a bribe of Rs.3,000 from a cloth shopkeeper, an official said Saturday.
The shopkeeper lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Branch that two constables - Sandeep and Ishwar - were taking bribes of Rs.3,000 every month for allowing him to run his shop at Janakpuri area in west Delhi.
"The complainant recorded their voices by conducting a sting and handed over the recording to ACB officials along with the complaint," the officer said.
A police team laid a trap Saturday and nabbed the two, the officer added.
The Delhi government Wednesday launched an anti-corruption helpline number for people harassed by officials demanding bribes. On Thursday, over 11,000 calls were received by the helpline call centre.
